A tilt in life

Woke up 3am this morning to sound of what seemed like a semi-trailer hurtling towards me...adjusting my eyesight I was relieved (is that the right word?) to find it was my husband sucking all the air out in the room.

Since I couldn't fall back to sleep I started to do the laundry and then decided to go to the gym for a quick run (literally 15mins) and come back up. Did some dishes, organised what we were going to have for lunch, hang the washing and started to send emails out to friends I haven't heard from in a while, scanned through the job ads and applied. Then finally at around 5.30am I felt sort of sleepy, only to be awoken an hour later by my loving husband. 'Why don't you sleep on the bed' to that I replied 'Great!' so I was wide awake with my 'Zzzzs' no where in sight.

I walked past our hallway mirror at around 8am whilst hubby was in the shower and scared myself...it seems I added a few more bags under my eyes.
I can't really complain since I'm not in a rush to go anywhere...still sleep eluded me. I thought maybe if I watched a boring TV show...that didn't work either. I thought maybe if I start moving around again...nope that didn't work either...read a boring book...out of frustration at the storyline I got more agitated...have a glass or two of wine this early in the morning...why not...nope that didn't work and I wasn't about to polish off a whole bottle at 10am in the morning.

Suddenly after sipping the last drop of wine from my third glass I recalled a comment a good friend once said to me 'So Tonz have turned into those society wives that are half baked from drinking the wine out of boredom'. Caught my reflection on the mirror and I started to laugh...oh geez this is certainly a different scene from last year when I was busy beyond comprehension.

Then I looked out and said 'Lord you do have a funny way of showing me the way'...I smiled and thanked him for another beautiful day but also asked if I could go to sleep and wouldn't you know it...20mins later I was :)
