Time and more time...

I really do miss do miss the routine of getting up and going to work...
bet you never thought I would ever say that huh? Well I do, I guess the thing I miss is the independence I have from it ie the ability to contribute...I really do hope I land something because it is becoming ridicoulous and I really do not want to leave home again...

Time is what I have now...so what do I do you ask? Check emails,
check my FB, tidy up, make lists, walk around and take pics and
of course write my journal right here...

It's maybe for selfish or maybe arrogant reasons why I want to get backto work...I've been on the payroll since I was 14yrs old and I've
never really been out of a job since then...whether that be casual, temp, part-time and for the last 10+ yrs Full time. I feel like I'm not pulling my weight...not that my husband complains...fair enough if I was pregnant but well I ain't...I've always been a fairly strong independent kinda girl, I like having my own things knowing I worked for them...whilst now, I feel like a freeloader...I don't really know how to go about progress any of the interviews here, it's soooooooooooo slow!!!
Well tomorrow I've planned to spend quality time with my Bubs relaxing this weekend...my poor Bubs has been burning the midnight
oil lately...so this weekend is OUR TIME...

14 January 2009 @ 1pm

On a walkabout @ Taguig

I thought after nearly loosing my breath at the treadmill today that I would go for a gentle walk around Taguig. Fort Bonafacio has been here a long time and used to be one of the an army base, I think but is now fast becoming one of the CBDs and is quite a posh place to live, you could compare it to Double Bay, Northshore in Australia. Something I still have to get used to...it clean and a pretty secure area. It is still developing so there's a lot of construction going around.

I also decided to take my camera so I could actually get to know how to use the thing!
Burgos Circle (@ daytime)
This is about a 5 min walk (10 min Filipino time) from our place. It's where all the restaurants are in the area. It's quite a poshy place at night and perfect for those romantic walks during the daytime it's where the workers around the offices within the area my go to have thier lunch. One of our favourite places, where they actually make real good Wagyu steaks and Angus steaks - Melos, the owner is a FilAm Daniel who's really a nice guy :)

Mom & Dad we'll be taking you here when get here :) Al and Ness I think was one of the restaurants Rom was suppose to take you if he knew your budget...the steak melts in your mouth!!!
I met Rom, Polly and Kat here @ Coffee Bean for lunch :)

Whilst eating our lunch, because it's quite windy today, I noticed that one of the umbrellas at the front of a restaurant had been toppled over (it took about another 5 mins for a person to notice this), then I saw an amazing thing which is fairly common here in Phils. 2 Security guards, perhaps one of those attendants at a restaurant standing over and contemplating, assessing the situation about what to do with the umbrella another 2 mins passes, the attendant was acutally taking pictures of the person trying to fix the umbrella...it all it took about 10mins before the umbrella was taken away...being Australian I found this quite funny...usually as soon as something that big falls, a waiter will come out perhaps ask the assistance of another collegue and take it away...presto all done in 2mins...
So after lunch I thought I'd continue on my walkabout...

I wanted to show you the distance of Rom's work to home...see below again 5 mins walk (10 mins Filo time). Still Rom takes a trike...mind you on a hot day, wouldn't want to walk down the street anyhow, you'll be sweating by the time you get to work...for those of you who know where we are you can see our home in the horizon heehehehehehehe

I took this picture at the back of our home, it's a Frangipanni, it reminded me of my Tita Jo's and Uncle John's home in Woy Woy because they have one in thier backyard - a big tree of it :) Missing you Tita and Uncle John...

Ok tomorrow I'm going to hit High Street to practice on my camera :)

13 January @4.30pm

Thought I'd prepare dinner tonight since my last visitors just left (my Bro and Chat). What's on the menu you ask? Honey Soy Chicken Thigh Fillets with Roasted Vegetables on the side. Kinda reminds of those times I was back in Oz cooking roasted dinners on a winter's night.

We need to eat vegetables anyway, as you know my baby damulag has a very sensative stomach :)

I really must do something about the lack of curtains or blinds in our living room, it gets so bright around this time and I can't watch TV cause too much glare!

So I've just settled listening to some easy music...you know I've been here 4 weeks now and I still haven't part-taken on afternoon siesta's lol

Been a productive day though, checked my emails, did some washing, prepared dinner and done the filing...finally!

13 January 2010

Just chillin' at home today, watching the construction workers working on the new condos being built just next door to our place.

I find it amazing that these workers seem to work all hours of the day, have thier meals in the building that is not yet complete at great heights and with the only protection being thier helmets and those green nets that I think are more for the people walking below. I keep forgetting that I'm not in a country where things are taken for granted such as...well a harness for one to prevent falls on construction sites.

Across from us is a premium golf course, which I've heard is about $50K AUD to join on a yearly basis. I think to myself, who in their right mind would put up that kind of money to watch a ball go through manicured lawns and go into a hole? I mean seriously, doesn't it sound ridicoulous? Well that's my opinon anyway...

Doing the laundry, tidying up and looking at the pile of paperwork I need to sort and file - which I've been procrastinating hehehehehe

Then I will be going through my cookbook to see what I can do with the chicken fillets I bought. I miss my car, well the independence of it anyhow, just the ability to go and drive somewhere or get what you need at your own time and not have to deal with idiotic taxi drivers - sorry but that is one of my pet hates here in the Philippines. Taxi drivers who ask which way I should go, or not knowing where prominent obvious places - though I know they are absolutely bullsh*tting and I've gotten the knack of telling them to get knacked when they are obviously trying to rip me off! Live like the romans do...well that's what I'm trying to do.

I'm trying to re-learn the language, I get tongue-tied sometimes and self-conscious that I'm not saying what I mean to say but I figure it's better to try than not at all. Still a long way to go hehehehe
