Ni hao!

Ok so obviously my husband wanted me to do something other than stare at the four walls at home and housework, so he enrolled me to do Mandarin classes at Ateneo, Salcedo Village.

Let's just say that this is my second class and I'm getting my I's and You's and We's all mixed up. Funnily enough I figure if I can go through this then Tagalog should be a breeze!

Some of the basic phrases I've learnt:

Ni hao ma?
Wo hen hao, ni ne?
Ye hen hao, xie xie!

After today's class I came home after dinner and Rom asked me what I learnt today. I began with the most important thing...

Wo yao Jimmy Choo bao for Christmas I want Jimmy Choo bag for Christmas! Aayos noh!

Another important sentence should I find myself in the streets of China or HK - Wo yao xing bake xiao jiao tang kafei, xie xie I want starbucks small caramel coffee, thank you...

It's actually helpful that our teacher translates the mandarin words to their tagalog meaning, which kills 2 birds with one stone for me!

I think I know why Rom wanted me to take this class, he needs to translate some mandarin documents. I told him that he's aspiring for a little too much, since I haven't really learnt how to read chinese characters that's more for advanced course - oh well, I'll give him credit for trying :P
