9 February - Quiapo Markets

Walked around Quiapo Markets we were on a mission to find those thongs for Hana! I was just excited to get out of the house :)

Went with Mom and Dad to Sta Cruz church...it's a nice church and gateway to Quiapo Markets. It was a very a hot day and Mom had broken my one last umbrella whilst we were at the pool hehehehehehe! Here we are walking along and getting distracted along the way. Mom was also on another assignment, to find DVDs for Teens...sorry Teens those movies are relatively new...so ummmm wala pa sa what can I say...second hand shop hehehehehe :) Here's Dad pointing the direction to go to his beloved Hopia Shop.

Mom also apparently needed face towels...here's Mom buying some for P20 :)

Off we go and alas we find what Dad has always looked for whenever he comes back to Philippines. Look at how pleased he is with himself...obviously couldn't wait, he had some whilst waiting for the 'bagung luto' to be packed and boxed for him to take home. He ordered a box of mixed bean and pork hopia and also ube and pandan :) Dad was telling me this is the same shop that he used to walk pass before school to get his breakfast and lunch and sometimes dinner. It's still run by the same person who ran it years ago.

Dad was already carrying by this time, some movies, some food and obviously 2 boxes of his Hopia. Just to make it easier, Dad decided to buy a bag to put all our things in...

Then Mom and Dad decided to take me to the arts and crafts centre...which is really shops underneath a bridge :) Yep you guessed it, there are shops underneath the bridge below full of beautiful Filipinia goods.

Here's Mom and I at one of the shops under the bridge, being Mom as she is, bought some items and I bought the fan below...I said that's what I'll be using at the pool to remind me our trip to Quiapo :)
It really would be nice to have a car so I can shop here, all the things seem fresh...I loved the vegetables that was being sold and it is so cheap!!! I perhaps could get public transport...but knowing me I'd end up somewhere else than where I'm suppose to be! Getting a taxi here is absolutely impossible...yes Mom, Dad and I took public transport...it was great!!!

Mom and Dad wanted to stop by Quiapo Church before going home...so here's Mom asking a blessing from the Black Nazarine. The last time I visited this church was with Francis Amojelar (one of Vev's nephews) and we walked around Quiapo...the church was Blue back then...obviously it has since been renovated.

No one wanted to take us back to Manila - traffic daw, prrfttt Taxi drivers are the biggest con artists here and sooooooooooo uber lazy!!! So we said bugger it...mag jeepney na lang kami...so we did to Villa Cruz infront of Malate Church where Teens was baptised!

How happy am I that I finally got to ride a jeepney!!! Only with my parents, I wouldn't dare ride one without them! Well perhaps if I was with a local who knew where they were going!!! It only cost us from Quiapo to Villa Cruz P30 for the 3 of us!
Now because it was rather late and we've had nothing in our bellies only the Hopia that Dad bought, they wanted to go to Aristocrat...here we are eating thier famous Chicken BBQ and rice :)

^^^Would you believe that all the time I've been here I didn't have a single HALO HALO so here I am with my very first HALO HALO!!!
That concludes my adventure for that day with Mom and Dad...watch out for Mom's spa treatments :)
